The Cost of Selling your Home yourself may be greater than you think if you do not have the right information.  I am a real estate Broker Owner who has picked up quite a few of those FSBO Listings because they gave up.  I have seen those same For Sale by Owners trying on and off for years and making the same mistakes over and over.

Imagine selling your own home and doing it better than local agents in your area.  The Internet has changed the way we market real estate, buyers know that ~ however, most Realtors and For Sale by Owners do not.

Some of those Tips on Selling your Own home, that are out there on the internet can get you into more trouble than its worth.  Some real estate writers have no industry experience and have other motives for getting you to buy their books.  I read a website the other day where the author was offering the For Sale by Owner a Referral fee for sending their buyer to this particular mortgage company. 

I believe things like this are a conflict of interest.  I have seen people hurt by real estate and I don’t want you to be one of them.  I will offer NO referrals.  I don’t want to know who your buyer uses for their loan and neither should you.  You can give them a list of local options but really anything else is not ethical and can lead to possible fraud issues.  This also goes for recommend a particular home inspector or appraiser. 

You must find a balance between selling your home your self and distancing yourself from the buyers side of the transaction, especially if they need financing that you are not providing.
